Outdoor recreation for new renters relocating to Marin County.

Marin is a beautiful county with a tremendous percentage of land dedicated to open-space, nature preserves, and non-development. As a Marinite myself, I was drawn to mountain biking, at an early age, as a vehicle to enjoy the geography and outdoor recreation here in Marin County. Marin is touted as the birthplace of mountain biking, and for those of you who are outdoor enthusiasts relocating to Marin for work, to be closer to family, or simply for a change of scenary, Marin's outdoor parks and recreation will not disappoint you. From Mount Tamalpais, to China Camp State Park, the Marin Headlands, and Big Rock Ridge, Marin has an over abundance of fire-roads, hiking trails, and scenic vistas for the whole family to enjoy as well as the seasoned adrenaline junky.

If you are looking to relocate and rent in a new neighborhood or town in Marin, with the convenience of being riding distance from various fire road and hiking tail-heads, consider Fairfax, San Anselmo, Mill Valley, Larkspur, and the Terra Linda, Santa Venetia, and Peacock Gap neighborhoods of San Rafael. Also plentiful with open space is Novato which grants access to Mt. Burdel, Arroyo Avichi Canyon, Big Rock Ridge, and Staford Lake as well as various other parks.

There is no shortage of bicycle shops in Marin County either. Regardless of which town you decide to rent in there will be at least 1 bike shop. Some Marin towns have 3 or 4. This means that finding that great new bike to buy, once you move into your great new rental home, won't be a problem regardless of which bicycle brand you are partial too. And because the riding here is so awesome there are plenty of knowledgable cyclists manning the shops to give you gear advice, directions, and to keep your rig running smoothly after all the riding you'll be enjoying once you get here.
